I am an artist and senior lecturer in Fine Art at Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University. I received an AHRC research Masters in Fine Art at Camberwell College, UAL in 2012. My practice is multidisciplinary, using audio, video, text and sculpture, often working in a site-specific context, using place as material. My research-driven approach leads to the production of multi-layered works that allow for simultaneity of different narratives and time frames, these being representations unlocked from the place of enquiry in order to reposition or subvert a hidden social, political or historic context. The initial exploration of site then acts as a catalyst to develop new autonomous works, which focus on broader research interests such as temporality, environmentalism, language, deconstruction and documentary methodologies.

‘The Cambridge Show’ brings together work by twenty-two artists who live or work in and around Cambridge. Showcasing a cross-section of the artistic community operating in the local area, from photography to performance, the exhibition will explore these artists’ diverse practices, and some of the themes and issues that they are engaging with right now.
