By walking
Where possible we encourage visitors to travel to Kettle’s Yard in an environmentally friendly way. Kettle’s Yard is a short walk from the centre of Cambridge, just over Magdalene Bridge and next to the Museum of Cambridge.
By bicycle
There is cycle parking on Northampton Street.
By train
There are two train stations in Cambridge.
The Cambridge main station is about a 30 minute walk from Kettle’s Yard. There are bus stops and a taxi rank just outside the station.
Cambridge North station is just over a 45 minute walk from Kettle’s Yard. There are buses just outside the station.
By bus
Buses 5 and 6 take you from Hobson Street (by Christ’s College) in the middle of town to St Peter’s Street, a short walk from Kettle’s Yard or bus 4 goes from Drummer Street bus station (stop D3) to Castle Street, a short walk from Kettle’s Yard.
Bus 3/Bus A go from Cambridge train station to the centre of Cambridge (stopping at Hobson Street/New Square), from where you can walk or catch another bus (see above) to complete your journey.

All coach drop-offs and pick-ups should be directed to Northampton Street.
By car
There is no parking at Kettle’s Yard. The nearest on-street parking is at Pound Hill, a 2 minute walk from Kettle’s Yard. Spaces are limited.
There is a larger car park at Castle Hill pay and display, a 5 minute walk from us.
We recommend the Park and Ride services. Madingley Park and Ride stops on Magdalene Street, a short walk from Kettle’s Yard.
By Road from London; the South or the West
M11, exit J13. Turn right onto the A1303 into Cambridge (Madingley Road). At the end of this road, you will come to a mini roundabout. Turn left (lane marked straight on) onto Northampton St. Take the first left into Pound Hill (just before the Punter pub); you will find a number of metered parking spaces here. Parking in this area is free after 5pm.
By Road from the North West (From Huntingdon/Midlands)
From the A14 take the first exit signposted to Cambridge (A1037) continue along Huntingdon Road until you reach the junction with Histon Road, Victoria Road and Castle Street. Continue straight on down the hill and take the first sharp right turn on to St Peter’s Street. You will find metered parking available on St Peter’s Street and Pound Hill.
By Road from the East (From Suffolk/Norfolk A14)
From the A14 take exit 32 signposted to Cambridge/Histon, take the first left onto the B1049 signposted to Cambridge. At a set of traffic lights go straight on, you will reach a second set of traffic lights continue straight until you reach a junction, there are two lanes to go right, you need to be in the left of these, at the next set of traffic lights turn left onto Castle Street. Follow the road and take the first sharp right hand turn onto St Peter’s Street. You will find metered parking available on here and Pound Hill.
By Road from the North (From Ely/King Lynn A10)
From the A10, follow the signs to Cambridge, when you reach Milton take the third exit signposted to Cambridge (A1309) continue straight through several sets of traffic lights when you reach a roundabout go straight over, you will reach another set of traffic lights, continue straight until you reach the one way system, you should be in the righthand lane, take the third exit onto Chesterton Road (the river Cam should be to your left) follow this road until you reach a junction continue straight and take the first right onto Pound Hill (The Punter pub is on the corner). You will find meter parking available here and on St Peter’s Street.
