Artist Personal Statement

Laura McPherson is an artist and designer, working within textile innovation and new materiality. Her work aims to challenge the perceptions of knit and embraces an experimental approach to materials, yarn and dye techniques. Laura’s studio practice lies at the intersection of material innovation, adopting a hybrid approach to technologies such as 3D Printing and Heat Setting. With a sculptural approach, her work explores shape and form through manipulated knit structures and integrated armature.

About The Cambridge Show
