In the short film above Assistant Curator Guy Haywood explores a photograph from the Kettle’s Yard collection; Constantin Brancusi’s ‘Bird in Space‘. The sculptor used photography as an integral part of his creative process, carefully placing his works in his studio and photographing them meticulously. Jim Ede, the founder of Kettle’s Yard, visited Brancusi’s studio and this experience may have influenced some of the elements of the Kettle’s Yard house.
