Art To Go is a new video series from Kettle’s Yard bringing easy, creative workshops for all ages and abilities to your own home. We are fortunate to work with incredible artists and an amazing learning team whose expertise and practices offer new and exciting ways to explore different subject matters at Kettle’s Yard. With Art To Go we can share some of their ideas with more audiences who may not be able to attend a workshop at Kettle’s Yard. They might serve as inspiration of what to do on a rainy day or offer families a new way to collaborate on something new.

Our first video of the series features artist Harold Offeh and two Arts Ambassadors from North Cambridge Academy. In ‘Swap and Share Posters’, use imagination, dreams and memory to create an artwork together in a group. The final posters could be a prompt for a story or for a new artwork.

In his work, artist Issam Kourbaj responds to the Syrian Crisis and the destruction of his cultural heritage. In our second Art To Go video, Issam asks us to reflect on what we would take with us in an emergency. This creative workshop gives young people the chance to think about what it would be like if they had to leave home.

Rana Begum shows us how to make straw sculptures in our third Art To Go film. Try it with recycled or biodegradable straws, like these, and have a go shining torches or UV lights on them.

Why not try these ideas out yourself? We’d love it if you shared what you make! Follow us @kettlesyard and tag your photos with #ArtToGo.
