We are delighted to announce the return of Chamber Music to Kettle’s Yard. Concerts will begin on Thursday 21 October and run on Thursdays during term time. After a long time without live music, we are thrilled to be hosting an exciting line-up of performers, including familiar faces, as well as some who are new to Kettle’s Yard.
Arranged by our Chamber Music Programmer Justin Lee, the series will begin with the Tippett Quartet and pianist Emma Abbate, who were originally scheduled for 2020. We will also be welcoming back the much-loved Maxwell Quartet, stars of our special filmed concert released during the Covid-19 lockdown. We are also delighted to welcome some new faces to Kettle’s Yard, including pianist Rebeca Omordia whose performance will include a selection of African Art Music, and the Consone Quartet, who are rapidly emerging as one of the most exciting ensembles of their generation.
Due to the ongoing uncertainty about Covid-19, we are remaining flexible in our approach to concerts, and will follow the latest government guidance. Currently, we advise you to wear a face covering when moving about the space, but you do not have to when seated. Seating won’t be distanced inside the House. If you would like any further information about this please do email mail@kettlesyard.cam.ac.uk.
This Autumn/Michaelmas term we look forward to welcoming the following:
21 October: The Tippett Quartet and Emma Abbate
28 October: Nicholas Daniel, oboe and Huw Watkins, piano (The Jim and Helen Ede Concert)
4 November: Tabea Debus, recorder and Toby Carr, lute
11 November: Gould Piano Trio
18 November: Marsyas Trio
25 November: Consone Quartet (The Max and Evelyn Forbes Concert)
